What is a 1 wire alternator?
It is an alternator that uses a special voltage regulator that doesn't need an ignition wire to activate it. This type alternator only requires a battery wire hooked to it. The voltage regulator contains circuitry that uses the residual magnetism in the alternators fields to determine when to turn the alternator on. The regulator does this by sensing the RPM the alternator is turning, when it gets to a certain rpm the voltage regulator "turns on". This type alternator is commonly used on custom cars & trucks, tractors and other non standard applications when wiring is a factor.
I want to purchase a high amp alternator, why do I have to increase the positive battery cable size?
Because you have increased the amperage output of the alternator, you must therefore increase the load capability of the cable otherwise you will create a bottleneck effect which will limit the output capabilities of your new high amp alternator please refer to our tech info page for wire size and length ratios for specific amperages.

Shipping and Returns
How do I find out what the shipping charge will be?
Standard Ground Shipping for orders under $50.00 is $9.99.
Standard Ground Shipping for orders over $50.00 is FREE.
If you want expedited shipping, for example, UPS Next Day, UPS 2 Day or UPS 3 Day Select, you can choose those options at checkout, hit the big red "Apply" button and review the rates since they are calculated in real time based on your location.
I am outside of the United States, what will the shipping charge be?
We offer a 40% discount off the UPS published rates for International shipping (excluding UPS Standard to Canada).
How long will it take to get my order?
- When you place your order, you will need to checkout at the full rate and we will edit the shipping charge accordingly and process your order.
- Your credit card will not be processed at the full price. For example - You are in Australia and you want to purchase a alternator with a price of $129.99 with a UPS Worldwide Expedited shipping charge of $227.30 = $357.29 total, you will have to complete the checkout and finalize the order.(Your credit card is NOT charged at this point.)
- Once we receive your order, we will apply the 40% discount off the shipping charge, in the case above 40% of $227.30 is $90.92 off the price = $136.38 for a total order price of $266.37.
- At that point we will charge your credit card and process your order.
All high amp alternators are custom built when we receive your order. We normally ship within 2-3 days of receipt of order. All new units are usually shipped within 24 hours of receipt of order, however if there is going to be a delay in shipping we will notify you via e-mail. We ship orders Monday through Friday, we do not ship on weekends or holidays. We ship all orders UPS Ground unless otherwise specified.
I received my order, but when I opened the box it was damaged
All orders are shipped with insurance, if your order was damaged (locked up, broken or otherwise visibly damaged) you must file a claim with UPS immediately, you can reach them at 1-800-PICK-UPS, they will require you to keep the package and contents for possible inspection for a short period of time. When UPS contacts us, we will ship you a UPS return tag to ship the unit back to us we will then send you a replacement.
I received my order, but I ordered the wrong unit
All claims for exchange must be filed within 7 days of delivery confirmation from UPS to be considered for exchange.
I received my order, but you sent me the wrong unit
All claims for exchange must be filed within 7 days of delivery confirmation from UPS, we will then send you a UPS return tag. When we receive the RTS item, we will ship the correct unit at no cost to you.
I installed the part and it failed, what do I do?
Contact us via email or phone with the symptoms of your problem and we will first attempt to troubleshoot the problem and if that is not successful, we will arrange for replacement.
I received my order, but now I have changed my mind and want a refund
Our warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective units only.
We do not offer a cash refund on any electrical item that has been installed on vehicle. Refunds may be given if unit is returned within 7 days of receipt and has not been installed, damaged or used in any way.
If you return a unit that was not installed after 7 days and before 30 days, there will be a 20% restocking fee charged.
After 30 days there are no returns for refunds.
Shipping charges are not refundable.
IF YOU DO NOT PUT ANY PAPERWORK IN BOX WITH RETURN UNIT, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TELL WHO THE RETURN IS FROM.
ALL PACKAGES THAT COME IN WITHOUT PAPERWORK WILL BE GIVEN VERY LOW PRIORITY.
